Oodishon aka
Audition, a Japanese horror film minus the ghosts and ogres and flying spectres. Yes, it creepier than ghouls and goblins and ancient men with two wen! The storyline was a bit befuddling at times but in retrospect very appropriate - I was viewing it with a western movie-goer's eye. The ending was satisfying though I suppose an American remake would necessitate a big gun for the hero to use. Scary, yes, but not the usual scary. But that could be because I'm female. A male would do well to beware those reserved, homely types...
